The son of L.A. and Perri “Pebbles” Reid, Aaron Reid -- aka Aaron Alexander -- stepped out on his own as an artist in 2011, years after he didn’t exactly ingratiate himself with an appearance on MTV’s My Super Sweet 16. Determined to achieve success without the support of his extremely successful music-executive father, Reid set up his own A.R. label for the sake of releasing “Crazy Luv,” an aching pop R&B single that had more in common with contemporary Ryan Leslie than his father’s platinum, Grammy-winning work with Babyface. The song, a self-production penned by two associates, hit Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart in March 2011. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
