Golfing sensation Paige Spiranac is one of the newest and most popular additions to the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The golfer, who has more than 1.3M Instagram followers, said she didn't think twice about appearing in the magazine.
Paige is hoping to use the platform to increase awareness in her work in anti-bullying. Having risen to stardom rather quickly and having done so in large part to her looks, being an Internet icon came with it's downfalls. She tells Esquire, "I'm harassed, sent death threats, my privacy has been invaded–pretty much anything you can think of has happened to me... I want to be less of a role model and more of a mentor. I don't ever want kids to put me on a pedestal and feel like they can't talk or reach out to me. I want to be there for them. My goal is to make golf more friendly and inviting, and I will continue to [pursue] my anti-bullying work."
