Orioles Score 2 on Wacky Little League Home Run (VIDEO)

In one of the weirdest plays of the baseball season thus far, the Orioles scored two runs on a Seth Smith single in which Smith scored.

Sound confusing? Well, it is because of what happened after the hit.

Ryan Flaherty on first base got a jump on the Rays' Alex Cobb pitch to Smith and attempted to reach third on the line-drive hit to center field. Rays fielder Kevin Kiermaier threw the ball to third, but it bounced through near the dugout. Cobb then attempted to catch Flaherty off base, but his throw hit Flaherty on the head, sending the ball into left field. Flaherty was able to score, and a heads-up Seth Smith tore around third and slid into home barely beating the tag.

The Rays were charged with two errors on the throws by Kiermaier and Cobb.

The game went to extra innings, and the Rays took a 4-3 lead in the top of the 11th. But the Orioles tied the game in the bottom half with a Jonathan Schoop sac fly. Smith later took a four-pitch walk with the bases loaded to end it.

The O's have yet to lose a series so far this season and have split a 4-game set with the Boston Red Sox. The team is now 14-6 and sits atop the AL East division.
