US News has released its updated list of the top public high schools in the US and by each individual state.
The rankings are based off of scores for English, language, arts and math and how well the schools prepare students for college and careers.
Taking the #1 spot for Maryland is Winston Churchill High School in Potomac. A few Baltimore-area schools made the top 10 as well.

- Thomas S. Wootton High in Rockville
- Poolesville High in Poolesville
- Walter Johnson High in Bethesda
- Richard Montgomery High in Rockville
- Marriotts Ridge High in Marriottsville
- River Hill High in Clarksville
- George W. Carver Center for Arts and Technology in Towson
- Barbara Ingram School for the Arts in Hagerstown
- Eastern Technical High in Baltimore
