There will be reminders delivered during a time of relief in Ottawa County over the Fourth of July holiday.

The Michigan Licensed Beverage Assocation and the Office of Highway Safety Planning have teamed up to distribute talking urinal cakes to MLBA members in Ottawa County and three other parts of the state. MLBA Executive Director Scott Ellis told WOOD Radio "we're in the service of alcohol, but our goal is to make sure people have a good time and a responsible way home. One of the ways that we do that is to tell them at the time they're participating." The OHSP had seen these devices used elsewhere and brought them to the attention of the association. "We partnered with them to determine the proper establishments to send them to and we're doing them statewide. I know there are several hundred establishments involved." The other demonstration sites are in Delta County in the Upper Peninsula, along with Bay and Wayne Counties downstate.
