Listen to Paul McCartney on iHeartRadio
Just a little over a month after performing at Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee in London, Paul McCartney is headlining another huge London event as he will close the opening ceremony of the Olympics Friday night.
While he won't divulge what songs he's doing, he has hinted at "Hey Jude" as the closer as it's a good sing-a-long song number. But as for the rest of his set, he's left it up to the show's producer, film director Danny Boyle, to choose. "He knows what he's got and he knows how the rest of the show goes."
McCartney says, "They won't let me tell you. Danny Boyle is directing it, the great film director, and he's got an idea of what he wants us to do, and tell you the truth, I'm pretty much listening to him. You know, I can say, 'I think this would be better and that would be better,' but he knows what he's got and he knows how the rest of the show goes, and he stuck me on at the end. No pressure there."
And Macca is not the only member of his household involved in the games. His daughter Stella has designed the British team's uniforms.
